FAQ

  • Q: Are there any security cameras?

A: There are none inside of the studio. But there are cameras outside the building, the community space, and the salon.

  • Q. What is the bathroom situation?

    A. We have a squeaky clean bathroom through the salon. There is enough space to use the bathroom, touch up makeup, and change outfits.

  • Q. How many backdrops do you have? And how many can I use in a two-hour rental?

    A. I have six on the walls with a pulley system. Then, I have a rotating scene in the corner that is currently white curtains. I really suggest only having two colors pulled down because it's better to focus on getting your pictures taken than me coming in and changing up backdrops and taking up your time to shoot. I highly recommend taking time to fill out the questionnaire after your booking so that I can have all your backdrop colors pulled down when you arrive!

  • Q. What if I want to do mini sessions at Joy Photo Studios?

    A. We love doing mini-sessions at Joy Photo Studios! We also kept the hourly rate as affordable as possible so that you could make money from the sessions. I suggest doing a quick mock-up session a month before so that you can market with the images. Then, when the day comes, we will help steer people and make it as easy as possible! We will have a sandwich board in front of the salon to get people inside. Still, we ask that you have a little break from one client to the next to greet them and have them come into the studio with you rather than sit in the salon.

  • Q. What about kids in the space?

    A. We love them! We have some fun things to get them busy, like books, puzzles, and chalk. But we ask that they please keep their hands to themselves regarding the salon!

  • Q: What about dogs in the space?

A: We love pups in the space, but we also love some warning because we have our own salon dog here! So, if you could throw that into the inquiry form that you are bringing a dog, we would be so thankful so we can plan accordingly! We also have a small fenced backyard in case they need to run out of energy!

FAQ

  • Q: How many people can I bring in space?

A: With the photographer included, 6 is the max that can fit in front of the largest seamless paper. I also say six because if you do individuals, the rest of the group has to sit somewhere in the space. I would rather they have a comfortable place to sit rather than spilling out. You can always rent out The Community Center with your studio rental if you want to have people waiting in the wings.

  • Q: How far in advance can I book:

A: 5 weeks because I am checking my calendar and booking my own shoots in the studio, so I want to ensure that you have a helpful person to help welcome you into the space and get it ready!

  • Q: What can I bring into the studio?

A: You will be welcomed with a pretty large dolly cart to bring anything into the space! We've seen it all! Potted plants, stools, lighting, really whatever you want when it comes to lighting and photography equipment is welcome! I just don't like firearms or knives in the space.

  • Q: What is the size of the space?

It's 260 square feet that packs a punch! If your subject stands in front of the seamless paper and you photograph them, you will be about 12 feet away. We just have the standard height of the ceiling, and the paper will touch the very top of the ceiling.

  • Q. Where is Joy Photo Studio Located?

    A. We are inside the Cultured Community Center at 1520 West Beall Bozeman, MT 59715.

  • Q. What is Parking like at Joy Photo Studio:

    A. Parking is free! And on the street! We usually have a lot of spots open.
